Netbooks

A trend in computing is that everything is going to smaller, fast and light devices. An example of this is mobile applications for your iphone. The app store has been a success and many are moving in that direction.

In a similar aspect laptops are headed in this direction with netbooks. Netbooks are basically smaller cheaper laptops with a focus on portability. The specs related to netbooks are not that great compared to regular laptops, 1.6 ghz and 1 gb of ram, but for the size and price they have carved out their own niche within the computer market

The Asus Eee PC line was the forerunner in this trend with many people enjoying the cheap and lightweight computer. Soon competition came from multiple companies including Acer, Dell, HP, Msi and more. This competition bred new netbooks.

The netbooks began to boast faster speeds and larger capicity while maintaining small size and and low prices. These computers began to grow in market share also.

The future holds many possibilities as these computers become smaller, faster and cheaper.
